Went to Wapo for the Wisconsin opener. Main lake water temps about 55F, while air temps ~80F and sunny with 10-15mph breeze from the SW. Water clarity was very good. While the numerous bays were warming to 57-58 there was little sign of spawners or bait up shallow. I moved to main lake points near spawning areas and found prespawn females in 8-13’ in small pods. Nearby weed and rock seemed to be key. My first time using the new Venture Lures BRS Craw (Omnia original color or black/blue) on a homemade or Outcast Elite football jig and they ate the jig well while paused on the bottom. I have to say these trailers really hold up and still intact after a limit of 2-3lbers. Fished them on Daiwa Kage 7’3” mh rod with Tatula SV103 and Sufix 131 30lb braid with FG knot to 12lb Sufix Advance Fluoro. Had to keep moving until you found them as this lake has a ton of structure. They should be moving up very soon to spawn and I will add a jerkbait and wacky senko to the rotation.

How about musky on some bass gear! 🤣 Obviously not the preferred method here. But found it shallow under a dock and it hit the ned. Saw a few others up shallow as well today. Shimano Mastiff fluoro leader held up nicely too!
