Pitching a jig on laydowns down the bank of the Rappahanock. The dirty jigs black, blue and purple jigs pair well with the Junebug trailer. Junebug is a great summertime color regardless of water clarity.

Skipping a shakey head under docks on the rappahanock river. June bug magnum trick worm on a Scott Canterbury shaky head. Caught 20+ bass on the outgoing tide, but no big bass today.

Fishing the creek mouths/drains of the rappahanock on an outgoing tide. The KVD 1.5 in Sexy Shad color performed better then a few other lures I threw today.

Took my Old Town Sportsman 120PDL kayak in the Rappahannock river. I had an incoming tide and even though the outgoing tide produces better, I still managed to catch a couple. I was fishing a weightless wacky rigged yum dinger (June bug).

Water level was up after the recent storm surge and the top water bite was on all morning. I was focusing on submerged Hydrilla. The skitter walk and Canterbury buzz toads were the top performers on the day

Took the kayak back down to the Rappahannock this morning and found an area of submerged Hydrilla. We caught them on Poppers and buzz toads before the sun got too high. After that I switched to wacky worms and a buddy of mine was throwing a drop shot. I caught a few more on the wacky rig, but he flat out smoked them on the drop shot.

Early morning topwater bite on the Rappahanock was slow. Had an outgoing tide and the bite should have been there, but the water was stained chocolate milk. Couldn’t hit anything on the spook, but the Canterbury buzz toad got a few. I caught the fish shown on the point of a feeder creek into the main stem of the river where there is some submerged timber.
