one of my most favorite ways to fish is casting the shorelines in the spring. Look for rocky shorelines with sand and gravel mixed in, also look for a slow brake on the shoreline as it stays shallow coming out from the shoreline further. Tie a small snap and hook your bait to that and throw right up to where the water touches the shoreline and very your retrieve to the boat. I like the DT-4 because they cast like a rocket and very durable on the rocks and they have large hooks. I also like using mono for this as it gives a little shock absorber when the smally hits. Check the last 5' of your line often as there are a lot of rocks and it gets nicked up quickly, that's why I use the XT mono, if there is a nick pull off 5' and retie.. Good Luck and see you on the water.

Summer is a great time to use swim baits casting on the shallow rock piles on the lake. I like a 1/4 oz jig with a Ripple Shad, and locate the rock and put your trolling motor down and start casting into them. I use Fireline with about 3-5’ of 8 lb mono and tie the mono directly to the fireline. Start on the wind blown side first and work your way around the rocks casting up into them. Good luck
