A great spring Crappie spot from just after ice out tell the end of May is a long the west side of the south point on the lake. Fish from about 10' of water right up to the shore. Put a split shot about a foot above your jig. I like the weighted bobbers, you need less weight and it takes less pressure for the fish to pull them down and they cast easier. Tip your jig with a crappie minnow or a plastic. Start out deep and work your way in. Each day is different on how far out they are.

Report is for Friday, 07/28/2023. Temp was warm in the low 80's, with a good storm coming through about 5pm. Temps dropped down to mid 70's after storm. Had some action on jigs near docks, but after the storm they really started chewing a frog and absolutely crushed it! Key seemed to be near pad edges and isolated pads. They were sharking it and absolutely coming out of of the water. Only fished a couple of hours after getting dinner during the storm at Birch's. Great Dinner spot on the lake.
