The water is really starting to cool off with water temps in the low 60s. Lots of the vegetation in the backwaters is dying off. I was able to find some pads that had some life left in them that were keeping the water clear and full of oxygen. There’s lots of young of the year shad in the system right now so I was doing everything I could to imitate those and it paid off with some beauty largies. Tight lines folks!

Smallmouth bass in the lake and river channels are actively chasing moving baits like swim jigs and shallow diving crankbaits. The fish are hanging out in rocky areas and feeding on schools of shad.
