Bass are suspended 15 yards off the banks in 12-15ft of water. Fish near laydowns and cast from various angles with moving baits. Yum Flash Mob worked well, along with a 6th Sense Provoke jerkbait, spinner baits and red crankbaits.

Laurel is a smaller highland reservoir with deep, clear and usually cool water. There are all three species of bass that live here. I usually have the best luck fishing the main lake bluffs with either a single finesse swimbait or multiple on an umbrella rig in the pre-spawn. You are likely to catch any of the 3 species, but spotted bass and smallmouth will be the majority. It is a fun bite and you can cover a lot of water

Fishing secondary points going in to spawning areas in 15 to 20 foot water yielded best results for largemouth and smalmouth bass.
