It’s that time of year! Some of the better fish are moving up to the shallows and starting to eat. For me the magdraft was my main bait by fishing it around any cover I could put it. Paired with the Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch, it is the best rod for the 6” magdraft. As well as trying out the new Shimano Mastiff Fluorocarbon. I used 18lb test and it done wonders fishing wood, rock, grass, etc. I had a bass take off with my Magdraft and rubbed against a metal beam underwater and was still able to get the fish out with little to no issues. If you’re looking for new line to try out, be sure to pick up a spool or two of the Shimano Mastiff. Good luck out there and catch em up!

First trip using the new Mustad Alpha Grip finesse hook and I am very impressed! Hook up ratio with this hook is fantastic and rigging worms is very easy. Pairing it with a Missile Baits Magic Worm, it’s become a staple in my drop shot arsenal. Fishing mainly brush piles and even pulled out this 5lb chunk on the new hook. If you’re looking for a new hook to try, pick up some of these new Mustads and keep those fish pinned!
