Try and work it more like a walking bait. Really erratic side to side action will entice those fish to absolutely crush it.

The fish were absolutely chewing during this trip. The main techniques were vertical jigging and throwing a jerkbait. For the vertical jigging, I was focusing the deeper brush piles between 25-40 ft of water, as well as small wolf packs of bass suspended in the water. This technique I was fishing a bit more aggressive than I would normally, by jigging the bait in place and stopping it above the brush then would cause the reaction strike from those fish. The jerkbait caught most of the fish in between 8-20 ft of water. The fish were very aggressive when it came to a jerkbait so I wouldn’t pause the bait as much as other people would (2-3 seconds at most) majority of fish hit it while I jerked the bait over their heads and came unglued. If you have livescope, this will help you indicate what the fish’s behavior is so adjust your presentation accordingly. Good luck guys and gals. TIGHT LINES!
