The white bass are on fire right now at Lake Springfield. You can find them in the shallow water near the rocks on the shore or near any brushpile. I have had a lot of success on an inline spinner or a grub on a light jig.

Lake Springfield water temp was 73-75 degrees in the morning and got up to 79-80 in the late afternoon. The only way I could get bit was skipping a bladed jig under docks that were in 4-10 feet of water. The largemouth are not schooling on shad yet but there are lots of shad so use a color that is close to what the shad look like.

Shad and Bluegill are everywhere in the lake. The bass are very sluggish. Caught my fish early on the jack hammer along chunk rock banks. I got my 3rd keeper flipping a Man Bear Pig on a dock late. Finished 5th out of 27 boaters in the Illinois Bass Federation event. There were only 2 limits weighed in. The lake is fishing very tough right now

Flipping up under docks rigged wacky in the morning. Then pulled out deeper on the breaks with hard bottom and fished em drop shot. Slow twitches and wait 2-3 seconds, then drag a few feet and repeat

Find rip rap about 6 foot off the bank. When they are there it's good.
