Fishing was tough and the cold temps and heavy weekend rain didn’t help. Water temp has dropped to the low 60’s. North end below the Oconee dam had the clearest water with heavy stain south of shoulder bone and throughout the rest of the lake. Burning a skinny dipper and a jackhammer fished around shallow laydowns produced some quality bites.

04-02-22 water temp mid 60’s. Docks in the first half of creek arms were good for numbers. Weightless wacky rigs skipped under the walk ways and around pilings produced well. A white spinner bait in the same areas also produced but the finesse bite out shined anything reaction.

3-26-22 water temp 62-65 and extremely windy. Main lake and secondary points leading into likely spawning areas were holding fish in the 10-15ft range. Mixed bag of largemouth and hybrids. Shallow docks in the backs of pockets held a few fish as well.

Fishing BLat’s Straight Up Fishing Championship - cold night on Saturday pushed many bedding females deeper until the middle of the day and a higher sun. Water clarity was approximately chocolate milk - dark bait water through and through. My best bait was the ZMan Gremlin (black and blue), pitched up to natural cover. Dock fish were all but non-existent in the wind, but wind protected forested shore lines with downed trees were the bite.
