We were targeting walleyes, found catfish. They pull well, and it felt good to hook up with 4 pound cats first time out.

We won a local derb out here fishing pondweed with jerkbaits and traps. We only got 5 keeper bites all day, but they were the right ones totaling out at 11.90 pounds.

Most fish were being caught off of structure/weed edges using a suspending or slow sinking jerkbait. Fairly slow and should heat up in the coming weeks as the temps start to rise

We were catching wipers on wind-blown points throwing single swimmers and a-rigs. Having livescope was key to finding the big schools. Hang on because they demolish it!!

Rough tournament for me. 43rd out of 75 boats. Caught one keeper and multiple short fish with shakey heads and some on wacky rigs. Most fish were spawning or paired up about to spawn.

Bass were up in the lily pads feeding on bluegills and baitfish. Throwing a frog was best way for reaction strikes and landed my P.B. 6 pounder

During the fall transition bass can be hard to find. A lot of the vegetation starts to die so try to find the greenest weeds you can and the bass will likely be grouped up there. Working a frog through the lily pads or over the matted grass is one of the best ways to catch them.

During the early summer, bass will slide out to deeper water and sit in the grass clumps. Lake MacBride is full of grass so it can be difficult to find the areas that are actually holding the fish. I like to flip a texas rigged creature bait or a grass jig. Topwater can also be good in the mornings and evenings.
