Had a good day of walleye fishing. Caught all of my fish on jerkbaits but they weren't crushing it quite yet. Really really had to work it slow to get them to eat it. With all of the bait around you had to get them to bite which wasn't the easiest thing to do.

Catching some really nice walleyes out on Bemidji right now. Catching all of my fish on these snaps jigs and man is it fun. Focusing on 10-14ft sand flats and just covering water. Weeds end around 11ft out here so running the edge seems to be working the best.

If you fish the cabbage with 1/8th oz jigs from opener until mid June, it will produce walleyes. Look for depths between 6 and 13 feet of water. Best baits to use are shiners, fatheads, or plastics.

The walleye fishing on Lake Bemidji is exceptional. As September progresses, the walleye bite remains strong. Water temperatures are around 62-65°F, causing walleye to move closer to shore. Live bait and crankbaits have both been effective. Prime locations include the northern shoreline, rocky points, sunken islands, and weed beds. Pay close attention to the wind and weather conditions.

The perch were aggressive. Bigger bait, bigger perch 10-11". Northland Tungsten in black worked best with a large minnow head casted with a slow retrieve or subtle vertical jigging. It produced walleye as well.

Water starting to cool off so the walleyes start pushing shallower. Catch most of mine out here in around 11 feet on sand flats. I just cast around with these snap jigs and work them aggresivley back to the boat. I catch a bunch of them doing this. And they don't seem to care about the weather. Falt calm and sunny or blowing 3 footers it doesnt seem to matter.
