Fished Lake Anna's hot side for a third straight day and had another great day. Although most of the fish were under 2 pounds, I managed a few that were pushing 3 pounds, including the one in the attached photo (check out the fish's belly!). I caught this largemouth while he/she suspended in 10 feet of water over a 30 foot dropoff. I saw him/her on my Humminbird MegaLive about 60 feet away from my boat, and I tossed a Neko-rigged Zoom Trick Worm his/her way. I saw the fish swim past the worm and then make a sharp turn to eat it. I caught many more bass, as well as a few really nice walleye, during the day. All came on the Neko rig or a shakey head Trick Worm in black or Watermelon Purple Glitter (WPG) on a 3/32oz Bite Me Finesse Shakey Head jig.

Fished Pool 1 of Lake Anna's hot side, where the water was much warmer than the water I fished the prior day in Pools 2 and 3. Found fish along rip rap banks and on rock piles in 10 to 20 feet of water. The bass willing to hit Zoom Trick Worms in black and watermelon/red flake on Bite Me Finesse Shakey Head jigs. I caught my better fish on a 3/8oz Dirty Jigs Flippin Jig with a Netbait Paca Chunk trailer. Like the previous day, we had a lot of sunshine, but air temps were only in the upper 30s. The morning started out at 16 degrees!

Fished Lake Anna's hot side last Friday and caught 20+ bass in four hours. Most of the fish were in the 1 to 2 pound class, but I found a few over 2.5 pounds. All fish were sitting on dropoffs, where the water fell from 4 or 5 feet into 10 to 20 feet of water. I caught fish on a variety of lures, including crankbaits, soft plastics, and small swimbaits, but I had the best success with a 3/8oz jig-and--pig combination. I tried a 1/2oz jig initially, but the bass preferred the slower fall of the lighter jig.

Spent most of the day shallow, anticipating bass were moving up. Caught several small buck bass. Headed out toward pepper water and got one 4-8 in about 6' of water. Tried to head out deeper, but the wind was blowing too much to fish effectively. Continued to hit secondary points that had some shelter from the wind. With a little less wind, deep brush pils would likely have been the ticket.

Spent a lot of time looking for and finding fish offshore, but could not get them to bite Damiki, dropshot, jerk bait, or anything similar. Only a. Couple of small ones. Found bait near riprap and bass willing to attach a Spinnerbait.
