Went over to the local lake and focused on lily pads as I knew the bait fish were hiding in them. I also could see bait fish near the surface of the water. This Bass ate the Jig as it landed in an open water area in the pads!

Took my boat over to the local backyard pond on a late evening bite. Upon investigating shallow water I saw bait fish scattering in the shallow banks. I was so shallow I could see my trolling motor kicking up mud. I worked the bank and was confused why I could not get a reaction to happen. I could see bait getting blown on. I went over to the more windy side with the pads and threw my jack hammer around. I noticed a little pocket of open water behind some pads and saw some bait moving on the surface. I aimed my lure at that spot and slowly lifted my rod so you could feel it barely vibrating. As soon as my lure hit those pads. I felt an instant pressure and weight and saw bait fish run like wild. Thanks to the sticky sharp hooks of the Jack hammer i was able to penetrate the fishes mouth right on the top. Just perfectly. Fought and flipped this Big Bass right into the boat. Saving a hard day of fishing to a victory tonight. Key was finding bait fish in shallow pads with wind then casting a Jack Hammer to mimic bait fish. Good luck!
