What a day on the water. Smallies were crushing the Shad Raps like they always do. That’s why the Shad rap is the best bait of all time. Nice day outside and the bass were hitting. I caught 25+ bass over 3 lbs. Cast shallow and bounce off rocks, stop and go retrieve. Pause for 2 seconds after you hit a boulder, then bam! Jonathon Smallmouth is on the hook! Hey- Grundy Bassman here. I hammered em today out on old Heidecke. Bass were biting the orange colored rattle baits today. I normally charge $49.99 for this info but I’ll give it out free today. The retrieve was a simple yo yo. Cast out, let the bait hit the bottom, let it sit for 2-3 seconds, then a quick snap up and repeat. The fish hit on the fall and you’ll set the hook on the next snap up. Try the RAT’L trap first then mix it up and see what works best. You’re going to catch some walleye too.
