Mid-April water temp was 46 degrees. Smallmouth could be found in roaming packs of fish on the edges of the gavel/sand spawning flats. Fish were cruising shallow and along the breaks. They preferred a black 1/8th oz hair jig fished with slow retrieve. Bites happened in as little as 2-3' and as much as 16'. Target fish that are getting ready to move up into the spawning flats along the bank.
