Spent a lot of time fishing shallow points, locating bait! Started fishing moving baits but switched to plastics! Ended up catching a few on NED rigs using either the Riot Baits Baton cut short to about 4" or Z-Man TRD on a Woo Tungsten 1/4oz Ned Head. All fish came at the first drop in about 8-10ft of water. Caught 3 doing this, 2 smallmouth and 1 Largemouth, all were around 14" in length.

Got out in the kayak for a few hours in the Concord area. The fish were VERY tight lipped with the calm winds and bluebird skies. Managed to nab a few decent bass in the 2.5lb range cranking rock and gravel banks that were on the sunny side of the lake. If the crankbait wasn't dredging bottom, they wouldn't bite. I spotted many bass holding near bottom near bait schools unfortunately I never found any that were feeding. A little wind or cloud cover would have helped the bite all around.

The main pattern on Fort Loudoun in the extreme cold blast we've had was fishing a flat sided crankbait around points, neck downs, and any current breaks like docks. The fish really seemed to like a moving presentation the most. Some fish also ate a DT-6 and a Lipless but a flat-sided crankbait was best.

Fished the 1st club tournament of the year out of Louisville point park. Cold front had moved in after a few weeks of unseasonably high temps and plenty of rain. We targeted flats in coves primarily targeting areas near docks with wood pilings that were still in 2 to 4 feet of water. Started the morning water temp was 53.8 degrees and caught about 6 near one specific dock that had a few stumps in front of it. With water clarity between 12 to 18 inches I started with a River 2 Sea Bling spinner bait in I Know it Color with Diesel minnow trailer. Caught a few short fish in one 100 yard area and we continued to target that area throughout the morning catching 2 keepers and probably 15 in the 13 1/2 to 13 3/4 in range. Moved to a cove near the launch and caught a few keepers on a flat near dock on the thunder Cricket and also a Pearl Caffeine Shad. Was also able to flip a wacky rig shad colored 4" senko around the stump areas and get bites. There was large pods of baitfish in the area and to get bit we had to be in areas with clay bottoms with sporadic stumps or pilings from docks. The bass are really starting to move into the spawning areas but with the front moving through throughout this week it seems to be pushing the bigger females back to deeper water near the spawning areas.

Decided to do a little bank fishing on the Little River around 2 pm, had a few bites on a 3/8 oz strike king structure jig, but didn't hook up. Picked up the hybrid hunter and caught a 1 lbs 6 oz lm on the first cast. For 30 minutes on the water was pretty productive. Usually is pretty slow in the afternoon so will try again early morning as they are moving shallow

I was keying on shallow wood near the main river channel or just inside shallow pockets off the main river. Anything that had just a little bit of depth on it where you couldn’t see bottom. 2-4ft of water. I was flipping a jig around the wood. My better quality fish came this way. The lake was still at winter pool levels so there was some wood and brush that was just stuck on shallow flat areas that looked like junk from a distance, but it held fish as the afternoons warmed up during the tournament. I also cranked the OG Tiny on rock back in pockets. Rock transitions from chunk rock to pea gravel leading into spawning areas as well as offshore shallow rock piles in 2-6ft were my primary cranking areas. I caught smaller keepers cranking, but filled out my limit on day 3 with those fish.
