I found countless smaller bass roaming weed edges in depths from 6-15'. Larger specimens were predominantly present in the shallowest and deepest edges of the range. Medium swim baits were also effective fished just above the weeds.

Fished in the afternoon on a relatively windy day. Began the day in the Northwest corner of the lake targeting weed edges on drop offs at 10-15'. A mix of crappie and bluegill were present, but if you allowed the bait to drop to about a foot off the bottom, you were almost guaranteed to hit crappie as the bait moves through the weeds. It is necessary to pick through the small ones to find keepers, but there are plenty of great fish to be had.

Topwater bite was good early in the morning. A little cloud cover and very light wind. bringing the plopper right across the tallest grass or grass lines if the grass was too high to bring it right over the top. Same story as my last report though nothing big, and that includes a pair of fish on a baitsanity explorer gill glide bait that topped out at 2lbs if I was lucky. Once the sun came up the wind picked up and the topwater slowed significantly, then when the wind went calm it died completely by about 10AM. Then I switched up to the Texas rigged roboworm on a drop shot and went for deep grass and found a lot of small ones. A fun day with 25 fish in about 4 hours but a big five bag that may have broke double digits.

The nursery was loaded up. Found a school of bass sitting a little deeper off the second contour break off the shore in 14-21ft of water. The key was being near some submerged vegetation but not in the thick stuff up shallow. Got 11 in about an hour and a half there in the middle of the day with lots of boat traffic driving by. Was able to upgrade size a bit going with the beaver style bait Texas rigged (but a lot less frequent bites) and ran into a couple decent ones with the worm but lots of small ones.

It was a bit windy 5-10 mph, and the lake is crystal clear down more than 15'. Crappie were holding tight to large trees that sat in 10-20' of water. Jigging near the deeper ends produced fish, but it was necessary to weed through many aggressive sunfish and small bass to get to the target species.

Pulling worms on drop shots or jigs led to numerous hookups where we'd and rocks meet. Deeper weeds (10'+) on rocky bottoms also produced fish.

Bluegills were beginning the process of building beds. In shallows and in adjacent weeds, large gills were willing to chase any small swimbaits offered at slow, medium, or fast retrieves.
