This was a multi species trip so we caught a fair amount of walleye, crappie, pike, and smallmouth bass. I enjoy keying into the smallmouth. Outside of live bait rigs, the keitech swimbait on a 1/4oz jig head did very well for smallmouth. Relatively slow retrieve with a series of twitches and pops off the rod. Beautiful area to get away and fish!

If it is a late spring use your electronics to locate fish from the first break and deeper out to as deep as 30-35 feet of water, the fish will spawn and pull out to the deep water to rest. Use a short piece of mono about 5 ft long and tie it to your braid mainline. Tip your jig with a minnow and work it slowly on the bottom. Have Fun and Good Luck!
