If you can deal with the dog and the rain, there are fish to be caught. Caught good numbers on Thursday in the back of creeks and sloughs. The Jackall TN50 in Ghost Minnow is a little better than the TN70 right now. Fish are super shallow, from the deepest at 3’ and the shallowest fish coming in mere inches of water. The smaller TN50 “matches the hatch” better right now, as the fish are feeding on small threadfin Shad. There is still plenty of shallow grass is many creeks and sloughs on the south end of the lake. The “yo-yo” technique works the best, just lifting your rod tip and following the bait back down. The key is finding the bait. River water temp was about 54°, as the water temp in the back of the creeks is about 57°. Don’t be afraid of going shallow!! You’ll be amazed at how shallow the fish get at this time of year!!
