Water temp was 37. Walleyes were stacked along sand ledges in 5-7ft. Found fish on side scan and setup on them with livescope and 360. Caught a few on the blade bait, but jerkbait was the ticket. The shadow rap (jerkbait) has a slow sink which is perfect in this cold water. Long pauses were key. I tried other jerkbaits with neutral buoyancy or a slow rise and fish were not interested. Once I found the school it was almost every cast, caught about 45 walleyes.

I was able to find Smallmouth Bass schooled up off shallow sand ledges throughout the Cedar River. Water temp was 38 degrees and a slow blade bait presentation proved to be the ticket. Barely moving the blade with long pauses on the bottom seemed to produce the best results.
