The bite window was short but fast and furious. The last hour of daylight was on fire. Caught 5 fish over 3 pounds and one over 5 all in the last hour of daylight right up against the grass. Buzzbait color was black

With the abnormally warm weather, I was surprised to be able to find a few giants, but when I did, it was AWESOME! I matched my PB length wise! Morning bite was key, as have been all the last previous mornings regardless of where I've been fishing. Topwater baits, especially the Zoom Horny Toad rigged weedless on an 1/8oz weighted hook with a screwlock. Just slow rolling over what remained of any weed edges and they absolutely hammered it. There was a lot of fish that would short strike the soft bodied hollow frogs, and would often just hold onto the silicone tails. Once I switched to the toad, it was game on! Once they stopped hitting topwater, I would skip the Black/Blue Senko along weed lines and shore edges and they would still hit. After 10am and sun was high, they turned off. All along the shore lines were baby frogs so it was key to notice the small things. Fished a jig in deeper water in mid afternoon along shell beds and they would hit that as well.
