Shimano Zodias Casting Rods

Synonymous with performance, the redesigned line of Zodias rods incorporate Carbon Monocoque technology passed down from Shimano’s elite series of rods that set the industry standard for sensitivity. For 2020, Zodias rods couple the hollow Carbon Monocoque Grip into a CI4+ reel seat to achieve up to 130% more sensitivity than conventionally constructed models, ultimately transmitting vibration from underwater structure, lure action, or bites into the palm of the angler’s hand. Shimano’s Hi-Power X technology lies at the heart of Zodias rods and benefits anglers by increasing the transfer of energy through the rod for enhanced accuracy and casting distance as well as reduced blank twist for better control when fighting fish.

Shimano Zodias Casting Rod Technologies:

• CI4+ Reel Seat: Lighter and higher strength than conventional resin material, CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material. 2.5 times stiffer than the original and increases sensitivity and reduces weight. 
• Full Carbon Monocoque Grip: Hollow carbon construction eliminates the use of EVA, resulting in a very lightweight construction, which is also more sensitive. Compared to the normal Carbon Monocoque Grip the sensitivity has increased by 28%.
• Hi-Power X Construction: The blank's outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, forming an array of "X" shapes. This construction results in more precise rod actions, enhanced overall strength, and added twist resistance. Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control.
