One of my favorite techniques, won a lot of money over the years is the frog. When I say frog, straight nose, a popping frog, a reeling frog. Anytime I'm throwing a, at some cover, it's got to be the Jason Christie iCrosser for a rod. And the reason being is I don't like a really long rod because I'm weaving around docks, around limbs, lily pads, whatever.
But you notice the end of it. It's not that stiff. And when With braided line, you can get away with that. I want them to take the bait. It's only 6. 11, so it's that happy medium in the middle there. As far as the rod, this is the rod, even though the bait's not moving that fast, I use the 8.3.
And the reason being is 95 percent of the strikes, those fish are going to track that frog and they're going to come behind it and they're going to grab it. A lot of times they'll swim towards you so I want to be, when I hook them, I want to be able to catch up with them.
