Alright guys, today we're going to be tying the San Diego Jam Knot, also known as the Shark Knot, also known as the Knot that has three tag ends. This is my favorite line or favorite knot for fluorocarbon line, whether it's crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs, Texas rigs. This is my go-to line when I'm tying fluorocarbon to a bait. We're going to use this carabiner as our bait and this white string is our fluorocarbon. That way it's easier to see on camera.

What we're going to do is we're going to pass the line through the eye of the bait. We're going to give ourselves a little bit of extra here to work with since this line is pretty thick. Then what you're going to do is pass it back through again. What this does is double it up. So now we've passed the line through the bait two times. What we do next is I'll put my finger between the two main lines here to create a space for a gap that we'll use later. We're going to hold that there. We do is we then wrap this line around the main line about four to five times. You'll find with the heavier fluorocarbon you might only be able to do four, maybe five, with eight to ten, twelve pound fluorocarbon. You can get five or six wraps. There's our first one. There's our second. Here's our third. Here's our fourth. We'll just do five. Now we've wrapped it around. We still got this tag end. Now we have this loop that we've created down here. What we're going to do is we're going to pass that loop into this one. Now you've got it like this. Now what I do with mine is I bring it back through this loop up top, pulling it up and away from the bait. If you're using fluorocarbon, get it wet. It cinches nice and easy. Now that we've cinched it down, you've got this tag end. You've got your loop. Got your loop here. Now when we go to cut them, keep our main line out of the way so we don't confuse them. Cut this tag, cut that one. Now you've got one of the strongest lines in fishing. (soft music)
