Here's a fun one right here because this is new to the family. Cory Johnston designed this rod right here in the Tatula Elite series rods, the non-AGS versions. This one here is for soft stick baits and football jigs. So fishing that Texas rigged Senko like you see is really, really popular down in Florida to up north here popularized by or fishing a football jig offshore on the rocks. So this rod right here is a 7'5" and it is a medium-heavy power and it is a fast action. So the top part of the rod is going to bend not super quick. Not just the very tip, but that first third of the rod is going to bend quite a bit here. Then it gets into the backbone. You want a little bit of tip for those techniques he's talking about. If you're pitching around a Senko, a lot of times you don't have a big weight on it. So you want that tip to be able to pitch that bait around effectively. And with a football jig, you want that sensitivity, feeling that bait or getting hung up and working its way through the rocks and allow that fish to pick it up and kind of move, you know, get the bait real good before you really crack into them on a long offshore hook set.
So cool rod here features full cork, which is my favorite. I was just talking to the guys here at Omnia about that. I'm still a stickler for full cork handles on casting rods. I love the way that they pin up against my forearm. I think it gives me, it's just a comfort thing. I've been fishing with them for a long time and I always miss when a rod doesn't have that full cork handle. So thank you, Cory, for making, choosing full cork. As you can see with a lot of these Tatula Elite rods, the pros are allowed to kind of design the handles the way they want. They can design the blanks, obviously the way they want. I've been a part of this process in the past and seen how many blanks these guys get. And they go through them and try and get the actions precisely to the way that works for them. So we're going to give this rod a bend over here on the on the wall chart there and see how fast the fast action Cory Johnston soft stick bait, football jig rod really is. So this one's going to have a lot more backbone. [music]
