Lake Whitney Texas White Bass Tackle

White bass fishing is extremely hot in the spring months of late February, March, and April on Whitney and they can be found in shallow water near structure. In March with the warming water temperatures, white bass (sometimes called “sand bass”) begin their spawning runs up rivers and tributaries that feed the lakes. They can be targeted with erratic blade and spoons or panfish jigs and soft plastics. They can also be caught slow trolling small crankbaits.
