They were eating the rat-l-traps today. caught probably 30 fish within a 2 hour window with some nice 2-3 lbers (x10) mixed in those 30. Reel it fast and rip it out of the grass.

Retrieving letting lure bounce of the rocks. Average of every third cast caught a fish. Left them choking the bait. Your got tire of catching fish. Lol

Fishing pattern was targeting deep points. Throwing lipless chrome black back 1/2 oz.. on a four hour. trip boated 48 fish. 28 where I would call a weighable fish. The others where short fish. But all fish any size fun to catch.

Made a quick outing to check the water conditions in Henderson. Fished a little bit midday. post front, and clear skies. Water has come up dramatically in the last few weeks creating heavy muddy water. Traveled back in the canals and backwaters- far back as I could go- to get 12-18" visibility. Worked wood cover along the bank caught a couple of healthy keepers. Tried several presentations but the Booyah spinnerbait with the orange kicker blade was the only thing to get bit. Conditions should start improving in the next couple of weeks just in time for the spawn 👍

We had a few weeks of warmer weather the past few weeks, but did have a couple of recent cold fronts come through leading up to this trip. So with the warmer trend, I figured the South End of the Lake would be good with the shallow flats and cover down there. I was began throwing a few different baits with a couple bites here and there, but once I tied on a Rat-L-Trap the bites really started to pick up. Fishing around docks, grass banks, and lily pads. Lots of little chunks, nothing huge but a fun day on the water!

Water was up about 1-2ft high due to recent rains, which also made the water muddy and cooler. Typically, water visibility is 1-2 ft in some areas... this trip was only a couple of inches and had good bit of blown out vegetation. Fish were staying closer structure due to the recent stained water. Decided to move shallower as the sun came up to get into the warming water and found a few decent fish.

Most of my bites came off the ends of the docks in 12-18' over or near brush piles. Long casts with a yo-yo retrieve seemed to work the best.
