First came fairly early on a squarebill like above except in the shad greens color. Burning by a laydown. The second near a ledge with a bomber deep diving squarebill in firetiger. The water was fairly stained, should have switched colors sooner.

The bite was slow during the morning, picked up just before lunch. I was burning the squarebill around and through laydowns and stumps. Landed 4 jumped 2 off. The Pic is off the biggest one of the day.

Water was very high - 6' over the bank due to all the recent rain. The water around Occoneechee State Park was very muddy. Fished the drop offs and rip rap in front of the Hotel/Restaurant above and below the bridges. Additional fish came on the banks around the marina. Slow day all around - even got a few catfish on the same speed worm.

Water level was 3' above normal pool and stained to dirty. Lots of flooded buck brush in the backs of pockets as well as low islands on the main lake. Tried a lot of moving baits without success. Only bite I found was a wacky rig tight to the flooded brush. More bites at the middle and back of pockets but better fish (relative) near the main lake.

Originally practiced for a club tournament on Kerr Lake and fished rocky and stump-filled secondary points in the upper end of the lake. But, heavy rain the day and night before the tournament dropped water temperatures by 4 degrees and rose lake levels by 3 feet. We expected to find bass moving towards the main lake to enjoy the summer; however, many bass moved towards the banks and into tight cover, where we fished swim jigs, spinnerbaits, and Texas-rigged Zoom brush hogs. We also caught a few on Zara Spooks over rocky main lake points before we transitioned to the banks.

Practiced for a club tournament on Kerr Lake and fished rocky and stump-filled secondary points in the upper end of the lake. Given the water temperature and relatively stable water levels, we expected to find bass moving towards the main lake to enjoy the summer. However, the lake level rose during the day and overnight, pushing many fish towards the banks and into tight cover.

I used a Zman Pro CrawZ with a Zman Bulletz to pitch around docks that were far back in coves. LMB bass are taking cover under these docks in either pre or post spawn. Also used a smaller profile jig like the Keitech model II.

Fish were chasing shad in muddy water. Fan casted from the bank and caught fish all over.
