As the sun got high in the afternoon the Shad and bass pulled to the lay downs on the main river and the spinnerbait was able to pick off a couple of fish on each piece of structure.

Early bite on the riprap inside the Bay, full moon had Shad pushed up with the wind and the fish were right there with them until the sun got up high. Once the shade left the bait did as well.

The bass are congregating on the channels and gorging on shad in schools. Fair to mid-range in size, but lots to be caught. Not what you would want to key on if tourney fishing, but lots of fun to catch. Any hard swim bait, such as a spot-bait or lipless crank thrown into the schools gets good bites. Same happening in canals around the neighborhoods in Pelahatchie Bay, as well as the Madison side, with larger bass being found in these areas on dropoffs and shadow holes.

Fish aren’t exactly in a “fall season” as the date might suggest but are starting to focus on the Shad/bait moving around. Saw several schooling fish while catches a few just covering water on a spinnerbait.

Using Texas and Carolina rigs on weed edge lines on main lake in 20-30' of water. Was catching a few Largemouth and Spotted Bass. Fishing has picked up some over the past several weeks. Bass seem to be still scattered through out the lake.
