Selecting the right reel can be complex. Attributes to consider are reel weight, what side the handle is on, gear ratio and line capacity. Casting and spinning reels are built for left or right hand reeling — just because an angler is right handed does not mean it will be easier to reel with the right hand, getting a feel for what you find most comfortable is the most important factor.
