Regional differences
As our customers started responding to our survey, we noticed some patterns emerging in the answers that were coming in. In addition to gear choices, there are some definite differences in approaches by region and even in their vocabulary. Check out some of the more interesting trends that showed up.
While a common sight to see across the country, this crustacean is known by many different names.
The dogfish, as it's known around here in Minnesota, also has a lot of nicknames, including southern Lousiana's Choupique ("shoe-pick"), which wasn't mentioned anywhere else in the country. In the Pacific Northwest it's also known as "Cut that thing off my line!"
The ballcap reigns supreme when it comes to which kind of hat is popular for fishing. Beyond that, you're bound to find a mix of hats based on where you go. Which is your favorite?
