Fished some large mouth bass over on the Gull Lake chain yesterday and the bite was fairly tough. We did catch quite a few however the fish were very scattered. I would have to believe the weed growth is sub par in comparison to last year effecting that transition when the largemouth move to deeper waters. All of my big bass were found on deeper areas. But there was not an abundance. Flipping weeds with a stealth feider got me less bites but got me bigger bites. I also used a T rig and a chatter bait where the grass wasn’t as congested. I did not get any bigger bites on either set up. We still are targeting blue gill beds and fishing close to those specific areas !

Fished Gull Lake on Saturday 6/4 for largemouth bass. Started our day targeting shallow dollar pads where the water was the warmest and caught mainly males with no pre spawn females using a 3/8 Outkast Tackle pro swim jig., in my opinion they fish better than a chatterbait through old reeds or any vegetation with hard stems, At the end of the day after the sun was out we skipped boat docks with good depth and found some good ones, target docks with deeper water around them! Good luck
