Found fish Friday using a football head jig in Alabama craw color also used a xzone craw in green pumpkin had a blast running around catching smallmouth. Was prefishing for a club tournament. I also caught them using a drop shot. Saturday for the tournament I could only catch 3 fish the day was way different than the previous all three were caught using a drop shot with a berkley max scent flat worm. Here are a couple three pounders.

Look for wind-blown banks and cast up shallow nearly on the bank and drag the jig out slowly over the larger rocks. When it falls between the cracks that's when you'll find the smallies

Had a great day casting the ned rig toward the bank and letting it site for about 10 seconds. Target boulders just off the bank on small ledges, like what you'd find right at the dam. Had the best luck when using the white shroomz head

going up the river and casting upstream with a chatterbait brought in some very solid fish. also found success throwing a jig to any cover found in a current seam

Craws were the pattern to match. Anywhere on shallower points close to deep water, dragging and hoping a Rapala Ned BLT caught em. If baitfish was around, switch to a drop shot with a flat worm or a Ned BLT and could get bit.
