Late season stop to a favorite bank spot produced two largemouth; one on a white chatterbait and the other on a 5" Texas-rigged senko worked through patches of submerged lily pad stems and grass. The chatterbait was fished on the casting rig using a yo-yo type retrieve while the senko was fished on the spinning outfit and was dead-sticked after pulling out of stem patch.

Fished the late prespawn just before female bass were pulling up to join males on beds. Worked t-rigged 3.3 paddletail swimbait on a 1/8 oz offset finesse or darter jighead along edge of creek channel adjacent to spawning area. After catching a couple of good, solid bass, a large shadow closed in on swimbait as it came into view. Luckily I didn't panic, kept retrieve steady with slight pulse and the bait suddenly stopped when the big gal in the pic decided to say hello!

A favorite presentation/bait once water reaches 50 deg ... working 1/2 black (or black with other colors) single blade spinnerbait with trailer over, through or around patches of submerged vegetation especially in low light conditions. Vary retrieve (slow roll, pulsed, yo-yo) and let the bass tell you what they want. This one wanted a slow-rolled spinnerbait, popping the bait through grass when it made contact. Have a follow-up bait like a t-rigged senko for short strikes.

Prespawn evening trip until 45 minutes after sunset. Started with 5" red shad senko, rigged weightless, Texas-style casting at different types of visible cover (laydowns, submerged dark patches (pad stems, other submerged vegetation), rocks). Cast, dead stick for 15 secs, drag for a bit then work back as soft jerkbait; bass mainly hit on initial drop; pickerel when working back. Once sunset, senko bite died, started slow rolling chatterbait (green pumpkin with gp speed craw trailer) over rocks, logs and grass on bottom. Nine bass, 3 pickerel caught in 1.5 hour outing.

Bank stop right at sunset. First fan cast area with Ripstop that produced two hits, one on but lost when lifting out of the water. Next worked area with wacky rigged Senko which produced 4 hits & 2 bass landed. Last worked area with chatterbait with one solid hit that knocked bait sideways but did not connect. Nothing big but nice to land the first 2 bass of 2022.

Another quick shore sunset trip this evening. Little more windy tonight so started working the area with a spinnerbait and @BigBiteBaits Kamikaze Swimon trailer. 7 Hits, four connected, three landed. Nothing big but always love a good spinnerbait bite!

Water Temperature
60°
As water temperatures get closer to 60 deg, largemouth bass are cruising the shallows feeding and preparing for the spawn. Working a t-rigged BBB Kamikaze Craw around boulders & logs in 1.5' to 5' of water using a hop-drag-hop retrieve has triggered strikes from feeding/staging bass over the last few trips. Keeping a wacky-rigged 5" Senko on second rod as a follow-up bait for missed strikes helped add a few extra bass as well.
