Fishing the Super BFL out of Sandusky Bay. We made the run to West Harbor. Each of us caught a keeper on a chatterbait in submerged grass right off the bat. We didn't get another bite there for a bit so we ran back to a pad field near a rip rap bank. I caught 2 more keepers, one on a Finesse TRD on a drop shot, and the other on a shakeyhead. Went back to the submerged grass on the way out and caught a couple more shorts.

I began my day in the marsh area of West Harbor around 2:30pm. There was around a 15mph SW wind which wasn't bad and the area I was in was protected. I discovered the water to be dingy and shallow. This part of WH doesn't typically get very deep but it was about a 1-2 feet low and I struggled to find anything over 3 ft. After about an hour I loaded up my kayak and headed over to East Harbor. I had a mixed day throwing the chatterbaits. I did try an 1/4 oz Booyah One Knocker in Tiger Craw but ended up loosing it on a snag. I let the wind drift me across the harbor and ended up getting most of my bites along the bank that the wind was blowing on. Along with a numb er of 14.5 inch bass I managed a big Drum and a 22 inch Bowfin. Not the day I was looking for overall but not bad either

Fished the Toledo Area Kayak Anglers League Charity Tournament. 14 anglers hit the waters of East and West Harbors in Port Clinton OH. I chose to fish West Harbor because history has told me that it has more quality fish. TAKAL tournaments are 3 fish limit. I managed a 53 inch limit with to fish over 18 inches. My 18.50 incher won me big bass. Three baits made my day a lot of fun. Caught the biggest on the Zoom Speed worm in Junebug.

Afternoon and evening of fishing out of the Kayak on West Harbor in Port Clinton OH. I fished the swamp area of West Harbor. The bite was a bit slow to start. I did manage a few 15inch plus largemouth using the various techniques listed. I also caught one using the Core Tackle Swim Jig 3/8 oz in Guilty Pleasure with a Strike King Rage Menace Grub in Bluegill. The majority of the fish were caught in under 2 feet of water. whacky rigging a Missile Baits The 48 Stick Worm in Green Pumpkin and a Z-Man ZinkerZ in Mudbug.
