10-10-21 Jeptha has some great pike but they make you work for them and seem to get active in the cold water. Started with slow worked white double willow blade spinnerbaits at the east end of the lake. Picked up a 22 inch pike over the weed beds where it goes from 12 to 6 feet. Switched to a deep six Megabass and worked a bit deeper. Caught my personal best at 15 feet over another weed pile.

6-30-2021 Went out with my lew's pro wally marshall crappie rod 7'0 casting for crappie. Small tubes slowly worked at the ledges over dropoffs worked well. Jeptha is typically a minnow lake for crappie so it was great to see them hitting jigged tubes on a warm sunny day. Crappie were sitting around 15 feet deep, also found them at buoy chains for docks and floats

I have been fishing Upper Jeptha Lake for many years. Anglers on the lake always state that it is a difficult lake and it is a tough bite. The lake is 47 feet deep and crystal clear down to 12 feet. In early October, the big bass suspend out in the basin over submerged weeds. Fish a Strike King 5XD shad on fluorocarbon line with long casts parallel with the island and shorelines in the 20 foot depth range. When the water temperature begins to cool, the big female largemouth will be keying in on slow deep crankbaits after the summer's topwater bite.
