Was a amazing morning of fishing. Anywhere you had standing timber around rocky shoreline you got bit. Fast or as slow as you wanted parallel bank and make good casts and you would be warn out by 8am.

Was throwing a dt 14 on a pretty obvious hump on the map, it was hard bottom mixed with a Little Rock/gravel on it. Never caught a lot of fish but the ones that were on it were above average. They were really relating to hard bottom was the main thing. I was throwing my dt 14 on 10lb Suffix Advanced Fluorocarbon which helped get my bait just a little deeper. I’m sure you could have picked up some of the bites with a football head jig too, especially after seeing that crank bait fly past them a lot.

The fishing was great Friday morning and bass were hitting the chatterbait and topwater just about every place you'd think there would be bass. Water temp was 80 but then a storm rolled in. The heavy rain and cooler temp at night lowered the water temp down to 76 to 78 degrees for Saturday and Sunday. The bite was decent in the morning for a couple of hours but slowed drastically once the sun got higher. A black/blue chatterbait caught most bass but also had luck on a jig and texas rig. Most bass were caught on the edges of thick grass, outside and inside edges.

Couldn't really find much but was able to catch some to save us from a bomb in a tournament. Just fishing some fluke's around the grass and was able to catch a couple of keepers. If you weren't bed fishing you could scrounge up a couple of bites.

Had a great day pre-fishing for a derby this weekend. Marked a lot of off shore spots but they are doing work on the lake so it is 10+ foot down normal pool. Found fishing in prespawn transition in the front of pockets in 12 to 10 foot of water suspended around standing timber. They would crush slow falling baits so fished a 1/16 ounce shaky head with 6 inch Roboworm in lots of different colors. With the water being low and dirty it was easier for them to key in on darker colors but they still wanted it to have some what if a natural look. Also caught some decent walleyes flipping trees with a shakey head.
