Had slick calm conditions and cloud cover all day. Covered water with a top water popper and used a caffeine shad as a follow up bate for the fish that missed or followed. Got the biggest bite of the day that way after it missed the popper. Caught a couple throwing a spinner bait and swim jig but top water was by far the most productive. Fish were extremely shallow and spread out. Covered a ton of water but pieced together a really nice day

Small mouth that I caught were all very shallow, less than 4ft, but very spread out. Covered a ton of water for my bites. Water temps were high 60s when I got to the lake in the AM. Spinnerbait and an under spin with a swim bait we're my best lures. Tried flipping tubes and some slower presentations but they were definitely on moving baits. Caught a handful of nice walleye doing this as well. Not full fall patterns yet but getting closer
