Turtle Lake has a ton of bass in it, and they’re not too hard to find. Caught a mess of them flippin around back bay reeds.

Took 1st in a BSU derby with 18.43. A sudden weather shift fired up the bite, and weights were good across the board. As usual, if you're not throwing a Midnight Walker you're missing out. Something about it drives these Bemidji bass crazy. I fished that on a 7'4 Heavy and 40 pound Sufix Promix. I like Promix over 832 for frogging because it's a coarser braid, so it cuts through vegetation a lot better. Tatty 100 let me bomb that frog backlash free. Tight lines!

Find reeds along a the bank that also have the greenest weeds with them. Weeds that are still green and haven't died off yet will hold bait and bass. Slowly pick the reeds apart flipping with heavy gear to pull the fish out.-Preston M
