Fished the BFL yesterday as a co-angler. We started out on the main lake fishing outside creek channel swings. There was a ton of bait but there was nothing but small spots under it. The boater couldn’t get bit on the Carolina rig, and I couldn’t get bit on a drop shot, so I switched to a 3” z too in pearl and caught a few small spots, a yellow bass, and a solid crappie. The boater made a move to a main lake channel swing bank that had a mix of wood and rock and he picked up a few more small spots using a shaky head with a 4.5” finesse worm in cotton candy. I was throwing a 5.6” swimbait in pearl on a 8/0 owner flashy swimmer hook looking for the bigger bites. He moved around to some of the main lake boat docks and picked up a few more small spots on the same worm and I continued to fish the swimbait. We ended our day on another channel swing bait that had riprap, rock, and cypress trees. I threw my swimbait up against the riprap and got 3 turns on the handle and got my one keeper bite of the day. The boater flipped a 4.5” finesse worm in watermelon red around and landed his one keeper that was on a bed. He was getting bit a lot on the 4.5” watermelon red around hard bottom and cypress knees. They were buck bass that didn’t measure. I kept throwing the swimbait looking for the females on the edge of the channel swing.

Swimming the lure back slowly. Didn’t switch it back like a regular style. More of a slow dragging back retrieve.

Tough front and windy conditions meant they weren't committing to what I was casting. Found a few small ones off some ledges and points with a spinnerbait but then switched to wacky rigs and drop shots. Caught the most on drop shots, but caught my biggest one on wacky rig, but it was only a two ponder.
