Went to the Afterbay from 4-8:30 or so. Bite was tough but not impossible. Targeted transition area flats with tules and wood. The fish were on little subtle depressions that maybe would be a foot deeper than the water right next to it. I caught 4 and my buddy caught 3. Mine all came on the Hayabusa Lil' Schmitty swim jig off wood and my partners were all senko fish. Fish were in the 2-4lb range and all were on beds or had literally just spawned (still bloddy, skinny). Got it done with the Shimano FC line. 14lb and the ALX Deputy MH rod. Note we also tried topwater throughout the evening. Whopper Plopper in multiple sizes, poppers, frogs. Nothing... Bite should start picking up as fish move out of post spawn and more into summer pattern. Weed cover was light on the lake and just coming up.
