Fish were sitting on rock bluffs, and rock piles right next to the channel. They wouldn't commit to moving baits, but working a tube and the Beast Coast jig real slow generated several bites.

Daniel Hayden finished 2nd in the Connect Fishing League Holiday Bass Tournament and took home the big bass prize of the tournament. "I have fished a few of these Connect Fishing League events in the past, and I genuinely love these formats and how easy it is for the ConnectScale to capture all the details from each fish caught. The stars aligned the two days I was fishing, and I was fortunate enough to finish 2nd place. Every fish measured and weighed was caught using a 3/8oz Moaner Hooks EnRaged Jig with a Rage Craw trailer paired with Seaguar 15lb Invizx Fluoro. I was fishing main lake points near river channels close to 45-degree banks! It was an exciting time for sure. The weather was upper 40's low 50's and the water temp was anywhere between 49-52 degrees. Not to mention, I caught my personal best smallmouth during this event."

Practice days 1 and 2 for the B.A.S.S. Kayak Championship. Day 1 I launched from Strayhorn and fished many of the small cuts. Ned rig with a TRD Crawz caught the biggest of the day. No real pattern day 1 as I caught a smallmouth with a ned rig on a deeper point, spots behind boat docks with jigs/plastics/cranks and one largie out on a do-nothing bank with a jig. Day 2 headed to Caney Ridge and struggled. A few small fish on ned rigs and crankbaits.

Just completed the Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship on Tenkiller. The bite seemed to be best on windswept points at the mouth of spawning pockets, wind blown banks, and brush piles in 12-17 FOW. Finding the bigger bait was key to finding the bigger fish. I found fish suspending but most were on the bottom and would aggressively come up to hit this bait. Work it with a slow jigging motion and keep it 4-6ft off bottom. (For those without FFS, count down 3-4 seconds before working the bait back.)
