Been having some good trips on Stockton if you are going up the river a jig and a spinnerbait is all you need. If you are fishing more of the mid to main lake megabass and a jig have been working with a few fish being caught on an arig and Crankbait. Go out and have fun and enjoy some spring fishing 🎣

This spring from the point the water hit 47 degrees I have been catching tons of fish on the glide and losing my definite PB smallie. There are key areas throughout the lake where they have been eating the glide better than others. The best spots to throw the glide have been steep rocky banks, shallower bluffs, and long tapering points. The north side of the lake is extremely clear meaning the drawing power of the glide is very high. You may not catch every fish on the glide, but with the proper follow-up bait, you can convert a lot of followers into catches. (6in green pumpkin stickbait) Don't be afraid of the glide, and you'll likely break your PB.

I started the day targeting shallow wood with a half ounce jig. I got a couple of bites all coming on the fall, this prompted me to pick up the Fat Ika and back glide it. I went back through the areas I got bit on the jig, and began to pick off fish in just about every other laydown I fished. The shallow wood bite is on. Stay in the southern river arms if you're looking to catch better-sized largemouth as the water is more stained and slightly warmer. As you can see from the picture, I was fishing very shallow. Also, if you dip the tube-like appendages in chartreuse it seems to make a difference.

Crappie are trying to come to bank, try the High Point area, fish coves in shallow water throw to the bank. Cold weather has pushed them back off the bank, holding in 10 to 20 foot water, but on warmer days they are moving to shallows. Purple/Black and Red/Chaurtuse colors working best depending on light levels.
