We caught our fish early flipping Texas rigged senko style worms and swimming speed worms into/through the lily pads and around docks. In the afternoon we caught fish on shell beds on the main channel on jigs & Carolina rigged worms.

Started the morning fishing a small creek on the St. Johns River with a Spro Bronzeye Poppin Frog 60 on 60 pound Sunline X-Plasma Asegai paired with a Denali AttaX 7' 4" heavy power fast action rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 reel. Caught two fish early with the falling tide and glass like conditions and once the current stopped, I switched a more subtle presentation, a wacky rig. My setup was a #1 VMC Weedless Finesse Neko Hook paired with a Gary Yamamoto 5" Black and Blue Senko on 15 pound Sunline X-Plasma Asegai Braid with a 10 pound Sunline FC Sniper leader on a Denali Lithium medium heavy power moderate fast action rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 6.1:1 gear ratio spinning reel. Caught the majority of my fish on the wacky rig when the tide was low and the current was lacking. Most of the fish I caught were caught near matts of dollar pad and lilipads located near docks.

I caught this on the St. John's River within eyesight of Powell's Campground which is where I live. I was using a rod and reel with a shiner, 12 pound test, and an eagle claw brown steel hook. Very proud of this catch and wanted to share. Thank you for your time. Have a great day, Cathy Dockery

Fished the Wolfsons, caught a few and had multiple get away. Focused primarily on rice creek, had another boat in there catching them on a buzzbait. Lost a lot at the train trussel on a shaky head on a bass assassins wolfsons special creature bait. Picture is practice the Monday prior by my partner for the tournament.

Great time for plugging away in the pads, surface grass mats and surface ambush points with the soft body frog. Patience is the name of the game. 1st half of the creeks seems to be holding the bigger fish in the first bit of summer. If you don’t feel like searching deep you can go straight to fishing! Tie on a finesse or wacky worm weightless texas rigged as a backup and you’ll be good all day.
