Nov. 5, 2023. Partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Breezy. Not a lot of bites on the lake on this day but caught some keepers on blade baits over the weeds. Caught ours in about 6-7ft of water, over some curly leaf pond weed that was still green. I was using a stop-n-go retrieve, about 2-3 cranks, then letting fall on slack line, then repeating.

On October 20th while the water temps were still 63F, a lot of bass were hitting top-water on the north shore of the lake over submerged weeds in 4 ft of water or near the remaining docks.

It was sunny in the low 60's and calm on 10/17/2023. A lot of bites on the frog shallow, casting parallel to shoreline near docks and in between, in only about 2-4 ft of water, only when keeping the frog moving, either walking or hopping. A few on a buzzbait too.

Skipping docks with queen tackle tungsten jig, speed craw was the best trailer for the day.

Docks
On Aug. 9, 2022. Bluebird clear sunny skies and warm water seemed to have the bass preferring the shade of docks. Caught a lot of nice size bass skipping a jig under docks. They were biting on the fall or as soon as it hit bottom so had to be ready to set the hook. I tried other trailers on the jig, but the small profile of the boss grub got more bites than a beaver or craw as a trailer. Also had a few bites on a senko and a Choppo plopper near docks, but most fish were hitting a jig instead.

Matted Grass
Fished a quick Monday night derb finished 3rd just a hair under 16lbs. Water temps were right at 80. Not much vegetation in the lake, rumor was that it had just been sprayed out. Found a few patches of matted grass, worked them hard but best fish came on a frog. Worked it all different angles and speeds and pulled a few off each one. Pulling a chatterbait over top of the submerged grass in 4-6' yielded a few fish as well.
