Got some bites ripping a jerk-bait around the edge of some grass using a jr 110+1 jr. A great jerk-bait to throw around. Also when the wind started to blow I was able to get some bites on a dropshot out on some bigger boulders. They were very smart and had to make a lot of casts to get them to bite.

Won a tournament out of Big Spirit today with just under 20lbs all green ones. Started the day looking for a big school of small mouth and found a couple but they wouldn't eat. Moved to what we know and put our heads down and flipped docks all day. Found 1 stretch of docks where we caught 6 over 3 and a half and 2 over 4 and a half. All on a blk/blue pitboss and 1/2oz WOO! Tungsten. They weren't super deep in the docks so we were catching them flipping the shade on the outside and inside.

Tried for the smallmouth early but wind didn’t cooperate, decided to switch it up and do something not many people were doing and target largemouth and caught them good under docks on a Texas rig and in calmer areas a wacky rig to clean it up after the Trig. Had 19.75lbs for biggest 5 and had 8 over 3.5lbs

Smallies were still out deep and they would bite a tube or ned but also a Vision 110+1 or 110+2. Everything needed to be fished slow and it bite was its best when the wind was its strongest.

39 - 41 degree temps so had to fish very slow as the bite was tough, crawl on the bottom in max depth of 10 ft or less

40-50 Degree Water temps, Megabass Vision 110 and 110+1 in natural shad based colors. Longer pauses in colder temps. Fish will relate to different depth ranges, figuring out where in the water column to target fish is the key to successful jerk baiting this time of the year.

It was overcast and really windy but there were still plenty of boats out fishing. The bite was very slow but the size of bass was great. Caught numerous smallmouth over 4lbs by dragging a Bandito Bug or Ned rig on the bottom through sparse weeds. Try to stay on the outside edge of the thick weed edge in water around 8 to 12 feet deep.
