Brush Piles
Fished today with a whopper plopper and a chatterbait. The bluegill colored chatterbait hooked a largemouth, but I didn't set the hook and it got away. Not too many other bites today, lots of other bank anglers out today too.

The tried and true Texas rig on a 5” yum dinger. The best fish magnet on the market. This catch was weightless but I usually use a 3/16 bullet weight.

Lily Pads
Always start the morning with a top water frog on the Lily pads or next to some brush. Works better early morning but there is always a fish willing to bite it.

Being patient was the key. Would let the worm sit on the bottom for a while before retrieving it very slowly.

Laydowns
The fish are getting more active and the shallow fishing is getting better! Bladed jigs with craw trailers (Riot Baits little fuzzy) were working great with their ability to fish fast and slow. Laydowns in or near deeper water are good areas to target, don’t forget to slow down and cover them well.

Fishing busse woods a pressured lake. It’s hard to get a bite and I seen them feeding in the lily pads and sure enough.I got a strike.

Matted Grass
A killer way to catch largies in the summer time at Busse South Pool is to toss a small 3.8 inch white Keitech weedless swimbait through clumps of grass or at a reed covered bank. Most will see this grass and want to frog it but from what I’ve found, the swimbait is much more productive in the summer.
