Swam the underspins through sparse lily pads and around lily pad edges. Also swam a shad pattern 1.5 silent squarebill crankbait along lilypad edges to get a few bites.

Had a nice session in the evening after heavy rainfall. They were chasing a black and blue swimjig from 4 pm to 5 pm around isolated cypress trees. As the sun set, they were hitting dragon flies and bait on the surface, so I tossed that Spro poppin frog in there for a 3lber and a few 2lbers.

Fished around reeds and cypress trees. The majority of the bites came on a moving bait like bladed jigs and spinnerbaits and underspins. Had the Shimano Mastiff flouro tied on and brought through some tough cover. It never let me down.

Reeds
Targeted new lilly pads, cedar trees, and reeds. The reeds were the most productive for me, especially in protected coves, since the wind had a lot of giddy up of 15mph

Launched the boat just before sunrise. Idled over to the pad fields with a 3/8 oz black and blue 6th sense divine swim jig with a twin tailed grub in black with blue flake and locked it into my hands until 9:30. I caught 10 bass from sunrise until 9:30 and then the bite shut off with the swim jig. I did manage to catch one solid pre-spawner amazingly in the pads leading into a spawning flat. She went 8 lbs. After the swim jig bite shut down I tied on a 3/16 oz vmc worm weight and a 3/0 EWG trokar and started crawling a cut’r worm through the grass. I managed to catch another 5 bass with one going about 3 pounds. The rest of the fish were a pound or under. The swim jig was getting the better bites for sure.

Submerged Vegetation
Used the Mastiff 16lb line to bump a squarebill crankbait and a Berkley Power Blade through the old lily pad stems and hugged floating vegetation edges to get some reaction bite throughout the evening. The line casts very well and I could feel some pretty good feed back from it. Also, tossed the Spro frog at the base of the cypress trees to get a few topwater bites.

Launched the boat just after sunrise and idled through the fog to my starting spot on the east end of the lake. I started the morning off throwing a 3/8 oz. 6th sense divine swim jig in dark water gill. I had a 6th sense stroker craw in green pumpkin burst as my trailer. I was fishing it on the 7’ 3” Brandon Cobb mag medium heavy with a Lew’s Speed Spool LFS. 7.5:1 I had 30 lb braid spooled up. I was throwing the jig around old Lily pad stems and reeling it in at a slow to medium retrieve giving the rod tip an occasional twitch of the rod tip. It didn’t take long to get bit and I did not lay down that set up until 9:30. I caught 10 bass that went a little over 14 and had a chance at a 16 pound limit but had 2 solid ones jump off shortly after the hook set. Once the sun came up, I switched to a weightless wacky worm throwing it up in the cypress knees and caught a few that didn’t help the overall bag, but it’s still a fun bite. I used stick bait I pour myself. It is a green pumpkin/blue flake.
