Some bass were starting to move in to spawn. I didn't notice any beds though. Wacky rigs worked ok. Also got a few on a chatterbait.

Had a kayak tournament on 5-20-23. Water temps were close to 60. There was not much vegetation, but bass were holding within 30' of the shoreline. I ended up winning the tournament with 94 inches. Most of my fish were caught on a 1/2 oz jig pitched into or around openings in the cover. I did catch a few on a 5" weightless wacky rig and another few on a Texas rigged Strike King Rage Bug.

Just finished a kayak bass tournament held on Tetonka/Sakatah. I fished the Sakatah side and caught fish a variety of ways. The water temperature was 62° and bass are starting to move up into the shallows roaming around and some starting to get on beds. A majority of my fish were caught on a wacky rig. Yum dinger 5” black worked well in the morning, switching to green pumpkin as the sun got up. I caught most of these fish between the inside weed edge all the way to the shoreline. As the afternoon rolled around, the bite slowed,. Caught several more fish to finish the day on a bluegill colored spinnerbait when there was a slight breeze. Ended up catching the big bass of the tournament at 21 1/4 inches.

Water temperatures are in the mid 60s. Most bass are on beds, but you will also find some that are in a post spawn feeding frenzy. Texas rigged creature baits or jigs are working to entice the bed fish. Look for fish to be tight against the bank or on edges of the milfoil.

Had a tournament on 5-21-22. Bass were just starting to move close to shoreline cover, but weren't on beds yet. Most of my fish were caught on a 5" weightless senko in less than 2' of water. Water temperatures were hovering around 60 degrees. The winning bag caught key fish in the afternoon on a black and blue buzzbait fished over submerged grass.

During my trip, I was able to skip frogs under overhanging branches, docks, and off the shore. Most of my fish caught within 3-5 feet from the shore. On a slow pop and reel. Weren’t too aggressive, so a quick reel didn’t work
