Trolled shallow with a golden rapala #9. No walleyes but 1 big pike and a few small bass. Was early November on November 1st. So this is a late post.

Chill, cool day with moderate-low water flow. I caught a few smallie dinks with a ned rig setup. Wife was a bit more adventurous and threw some 4" paddle tails that was quite enticing for the river pikes! Along our paddling, I did notice quite a few pikes swimming along closer to the shallows, often away from the faster-moving current.

Tried for crappies today on the rum river but I got this 20 inch smallie first time using shimanos new fluorocarbon carbon so it holds up pretty well. Gonna be trying it out more this season
